A Lake Como Wedding in Villa d'Este

Alexandra and Justin are the sweetest couple from New York City. I met them two years ago in the City for their engagement session in the middle of Central Park cherry blossom trees. Their wedding was nothing but an amazing event. It was my first time shooting at the stunning Villa d'Este, on Lake Como.

We started this perfect September weekend by a portrait session on a Riva boat that took us in the middle of the lake. This was immediately followed by Alexandra & Justin's welcome event, on a cruise that took us along the shores of Lake Como. The wedding day itself was nothing but amazing with a stunning bespoke Michael Kors' dress, stuning florals by Rattiflora, and the most beautiful firework above the lake.

Harper's Bazaar Top Wedding Photographers

I am very excited to be featured in Harper's Bazaar list of Top Wedding Photographers in the World for the 4th year in a row. Such an exclusive list with talented industry peers.

From Harper's Bazaar editor: 'These are the photographers we recommend when asked and those who we trust to capture the portraits, moments, and details of life's most sentimental events. Some of them have shot the most exclusive celebrity weddings; others are the go-tos for the It-girl and fashion set. Many of these talents have captured events all over the world—some approaching their work with a documentarian's eye, while others are all about sheer romance. As for the best of the best, they're all of the above.'

I have simply no words for Elie Saab's new Haute Couture Spring Summer 2020 Collection. I am so grateful to have counted Elie Saab as a loyal client of my business for 4 years now, but I can honestly say that this collection is my favorite by far. The Haute Couture shows are always the ones I expect the most to photograph, because of the textures, the color palettes, the materials that make these dresses so spectacular... But this one, seriously! I have never made such an extended selection of photos I want to show you. So here we go.

A Winter Editorial in the Dolomites

If the idea of a winter wedding leaves you cold (pun intended) I'm pretty sure you'll be rethinking that after seeing this gorgeous winter bridal shoot captured at an internationally recognised ski mountain in Northern Italy.

Featuring gorgeous gowns from Rime Arodaky, the shoot was styled by Design Anarchy by Chic Weddings at Cortina d'Ampezzo - a venue with a thousand year old history which is part of the Dolomiti Superski area. It was the perfect environment for a rustic winter bridal shoot. Snow capped mountains, two snow-covered outdoor table scapes and fine culinary gastronomy from SanBrite Acricucina all helped to set the scene. If you're an adventurous couple this would certainly make for a unique wedding option!

Rime Arodaky 'les Premières'

Focusing on artisanal know-how, Rime Arodaky gowns 'Les Premières' are created in Paris through an intricate process that involves long hours of embroideries, top-notch production quality and exceptional French savoir-faire. In French fashion terms, 'Les Premières d'Atelier' are the senior seamstresses who have had many years of work experience within a Haute Couture atelier. Rime wanted this collection to be an homage for these women since they've helped her develop this collection with their exceptional know-how and state-of-the-art quality standards.

I photographed this campaign, mostly by night, in the streets of Paris last September.

A Glamping-Inspired Editorial in Camargue

Glamping is where stunning nature meets modern luxury. It's a way to experience the untamed and completely unique parts of the world—without having to sacrifice creature comforts. Camargue is one of France's most hidden jewel! Located in the South East of France, between Marseille and Montpellier, it offers a unique backdrop of seaside landscapes, where wild horses run in full freedom.

That's the backdrop we had chosen for this editorial that we shot a year ago. Planned and designed by Lavender&Rose Weddings, we wanted to put the highlight on that region, that is often in the shadow of Provence and the French Riviera. We were inspired by a free-spirit/boho mindset, still with a touch of luxury and glam.

Elie Saab Couture AW19/20

For his Autunm/Winter 19/20 Haute Couture collection, Elie Saab went above and beyond one more time. Strongly inspired by Japan and the culture of the geishas, this collection is made of kimonos and dresses with oversized sleeves and intricate embroidered fabrics. An explosion of colors goes from red to pink, to purple and ivoire. To be noticed that for the first time, there has been no use of fur in the collection (still feathers though). The progress still is to be noticed!

By its history, architecture and location, la Vigie is one the most prestigious venue of the French Riviera.

Located on the water's edge overlooing the Principality of Monaco, it used to be Karl Lagerfeld's holiday house for 10 years. This is where Joanna & Troy - an adorable couple from Hong Kong - decided to tie the knot. The flowers of the coastal ceremony almost floated in the air, as if suspended by water, set in front of an infinity arch. At night, the Principality lights twinkled and the sparks of fireworks filled the air. This was just the perfect Spring wedding on the French Riviera.

For his Haute Couture SS19 show, the Maison made tie dye look high-fashion. The silk satin full gowns in tie dye red as well as blue and pink never had a hippy-inspired print had such a chic makeover. Toward the end, out came the triumphs of Elie Saab in a form of feminine flowing summer dresses, some exposing the waistline or shortened on the front, as well as accented ruffles on the shoulders. The brief, but very beautiful section of scarlet red pieces felt like a welcome departure from all the embellishment.

Diana (a wedding planner) was actually the one to plan the proposal. They flew to Chengdu, in Sichuan, where the biggest panda research center is based, hence the theme of the wedding.

In fact, the whole theme of the weekend was to transform the five-star beach resort into a dreamy enchanted garden, what was wonderfully achieved by The Wedding Bliss Thailand. Ronan Keating sang his hit "When You Say Nothing At All" (from the Notting Hill movie) for the couple's ceremony entrance; and the newlyweds cut into a nine-tiered wedding cake!

Otherwise known as handira, these blankets are a window into the traditional Berber culture of Morocco. They are crafted in anticipation of a wedding as a sort of send-off present. Hylah was in France to attend the 'Flutter Your Heart Tour', hosted by Flutter Magazine, and she was on a very busy schedule.

That's how we decided to have a very early morning session, as the City was still empty of tourists and workers. We met in front of the Eiffel Tower for some no-miss shots, before walking around Ile de la Cité, Notre Dame, and end with a well deserved café and some croissants in a typical Parisian café.

A Downtown Abbey Wedding in London

Caitlin&Patrick live in Seattle. Patrick being from London, that's where they had decided to tie the knot. I had met this sweet couple earlier last year for their wonderful engagement session in Joshua Tree National Park, with the company of their best furry friend Moxie.

Caitlin&Patrick didn't have a specific theme for their wedding and once they had picked the venue, they let the style kind of fall into place. Hedsor House is indeed the location where they shot most of the scenes of the tv show Downtown Abbey. So Caitlin&Patrick kept everything very elegant and classic. They had as many gold accents as possible, and kept the rest of the colors very moody and organic.

We're starting this trip with Tulum and the Nomade Hotel, which has been one of my favorite travel experience so far. This is the perfect getaway for a retreat, where you will be pampered at the rhythm of yoga classes, amazing vegan food, and holistic experiences within the hotel's gratitude tent. Claiming that Isabella and Igal have been my bravest couple of last year would be an understatement. Both living in London, they organized their destination wedding in Istanbul, where Igal is from.

This was without counting on the fact that a coup happened in Istanbul exactly one month before the wedding date, or the fact that it rained the whole day, when it was sunny and hot the day before and the day after. That said, Isabella and Igal kept a huge smile on their face the whole day and it's been such a great pleasure to photograph these two's big day!

One of ballet's most iconic scores, Giselle, inspires the Elie Saab Ready-to-Wear Autumn Winter 2017-2018 collection with its tale of human love crossing into the supernatural realm. An ethereal lightness uplifts form, mood, and movement amidst a seasonal return to dark romanticism.

My America

People who know me know that I love America. I lived there twelve years ago, and I'll be living there again one day. I love the United-States in every possible way. I love its people, its diversity, its nature and landscapes, and above all its positive mindset that makes you think that everything is possible.

America truly is the land of opportunity and America's beauty truly resides in its diversity. So, as the US face a historical choice today, I just wanted to share my vision of America through some photographs. I won't express my opinion or party preference here, as every single line that I've read on that topic have just led to anger or division. That choice is for the Americans to make. My only hope though, is that this choice won't lead to more division and growing inequalities. I realize my view of America can seem biased or simplistic, and daily life for many Americans is very different from these photographs. That said, that is the vision of America I wanted to share on that historical day. Hoping that America will get out of this election more united than it was yesterday, whatever the result might be.
